JUNE 16, 2022, WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Pro-Israel America (PIA) and Pro-Israel America PAC announced the appointment of Manuel Rajunov as chair of its Board of Directors. As board chair, Rajunov will serve as a trusted adviser to executive director Jeff Mendelsohn.
“We are thrilled to elevate Manny into the board chair position, particularly as we continue to grow and expand our grassroots and fundraising influence heading into the November midterm elections,” said PIA executive director Jeff Mendelsohn. “Manny’s longstanding involvement in the pro-Israel grassroots space makes him a natural fit to lead our board and I look forward to working with him to build an even stronger community of grassroots activists and donors who will help make sure the 118th Congress is the most pro-Israel yet.”
“As we face global challenges like an emergent nuclear Iran, rising antisemitism, and emboldened anti-Israel voices, we must continue to ensure the strongest congressional support of the critical U.S.-Israel relationship, which is why I am proud to serve as board chair for Pro-Israel America,” said Manuel Rajunov. “The work that Pro-Israel America has been doing – recruiting more than 170,000 new grassroots activists and thousands of new donors in just over three years – remains critical, and I am honored to contribute to the cause of strengthening and deepening congressional support of Israel on both sides of the aisle.”
Manuel Rajunov is a partner at the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery where he provides cross-border tax and transactional counsel to US and non-US multinational entities, with a particular focus on inbound and outbound Latin American investment strategies. This includes Israel-based companies on their investments in Latin America, and Latin American-based entities on their foreign investments. Manuel also counsels clients on real estate investments, structured finance transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Manuel is active with AIPAC serving on the National Council since 2012, he is the current chair of the AIPAC Dallas Executive Council (2018-2021), an alum of the AIPAC Lonnie Kaplan Leadership Institute class of 2019, and the recipient of the 2019 Jon Barkan New Leadership Network Award.
Pro-Israel America’s 170,000 grassroots membership base proved during the 2020 election cycle that support for the U.S.-Israel relationship continues to run deep in both parties and makes for good politics as well as good policy. Pro-Israel America helped elect 70 pro-Israel members of Congress in 2020 including 39 Democrats and 31 Republicans, and in 2021 supported pro-Israel Democrat Shontel Brown in coming from behind to win the OH-11 primary and election. Pro-Israel America has already endorsed over 70 candidates in the 2022 midterm elections. In total, Pro-Israel America has raised over $6 million for pro-Israel candidates.
