February 20, 2020, WASHINGTON DC – Pro-Israel America, a grassroots network dedicated to strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship, today released its March Primary Guide, highlighting four key races, Illinois 03, Texas 28, Ohio 03 and Texas 12, in March where the choices voters face will be critical for the U.S. alliance with Israel.
The U.S.-Israel relationship is more important than ever. Pro-Israel America is committed to supporting candidates who will work to further the U.S. alliance with Israel, helping keep both our countries safe. In March, Representatives Lipinski, Cuellar, Beatty, and Granger, who have proven track records of support for the U.S.-Israel relationship, face competitive primaries that will all but determine the winner of the November elections.
“Pro-Israel America has endorsed Representatives Lipinski, Cuellar, Beatty and Granger because we trust their support for the U.S.-Israel relationship,” said Jeff Mendelsohn, Executive Director of Pro-Israel America. “These races show how important our work is on both sides of the aisle.”
“Representative Lipinski faces two primary opponents who have taken clear anti-Israel positions,” said Mendelsohn. “One opponent, Rush Darwish, supports a “one-state solution” and wants to advance the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement in Congress, both of which are designed to eliminate the Jewish state of Israel. Another opponent, Marie Newman, used to support the BDS movement, but says she no longer does — even though she continues to oppose legislation that would outlaw compliance with this anti-Israel movement. She also believes that a Palestinian right of return must be part of a two-state solution, which would, ultimately, undermine the existence of a Jewish state in Israel.”
“Representatives Cuellar and Beatty face opponents who have not made public statements about their views on the U.S.-Israel relationship, but take money from a PAC whose platform calls to cut military assistance to Israel. Representative Granger has been a leader in the Appropriations Committee to advance the U.S.-Israel relationship, while her opponent has no track record on our alliance with Israel,” said Mendelsohn. “Our March Primary Guide outlines where these candidates stand on the U.S.-Israel relationship to educate voters. Our grassroots activists across the country are engaging in these critical races to support these pro-Israel candidates on both sides of the aisle.”
